Helping to find the missing piece of the puzzle
Helping to find the missing piece of the puzzle
Most teams don’t have a skills problem. They have a Just Culture problem. This is a gap in where your team feels safe enough admitting mistakes, raising concerns, and speaking up when it matters.
I'm a Culture Coach and I help leaders close that gap, using Human Factors which is the same methodology aviation and healthcare rely on when the stakes are highest.
This is applied to everyday leadership, communication and decision-making.
James delivered a session to the Weston-super-Mare FC Scholars last month. The focus of the session was to promote team spirit, autonomy and vulnerability within a new group about to go on a 2 year journey together.
I was really impressed with the depth of conversation we managed to reach in the first two hours with the boys, James created an environment that felt welcoming and safe, but challenging in a way that didn’t allow for passive participation.
The session felt tailor made, and although we covered some more general themes that would be relevant to any industry; respect for each other, the desirability of being dependable + accountable, there was a real focus on the themes appropriate to professional football; training and matchday preparation, being a good teammate, taking opportunities and the importance of what you do away from the pitch.
We saw a measurable shift in attitude and performance from the group in the immediate training session and game that followed, which I would say is still maintained now, over a month later.
